three's company

ink and digital

Above is the full illustration for the threesomes article which was the topic of the last BeatRoute sex column. I had originally stated that it was pushed to the September issue, but it looks as though it will only remain an online article. You can read E-Z-Breezy's informative article here. Next month will have a whole new sex article which I am illustrating once again and Beatroute's resident sexpert, E-Z-Breezy will be writing (this one should be published). The topic next month is what people think about when they touch themselves.

Below you can see some of the early thumbnailed concepts for the threesome illustration before I decided on the final composition. Listen to your threesome related song after the jump!

adult hood

"Adult Hood" acrylic on canvas 2011

A better look at my "Adult Hood" piece.

You can read another article about the "Twenty" show on Luxe Lust as well here.

Your song of the day below, very fitting for the piece I think.

post twenty post

above: me beside my contribution to the Twenty show entitled "Adult Hood" at the Resolution Local Art Gallery in Kensington, and a pic of part of the gallery space as well, photos courtesy of Steph Wong Ken.

The Twenty show was a great success, good people, good art, good wine, and Lucky beers, 3 out of 4 isn't bad! (Just kidding, those Lucky's were delicious and the perfect fit for a twenty themed show). If you missed the opening, no need to fret, it will be in the gallery until the 21st of August. So grab a friend, a couple Luckys and check out a very eclectic group exhibit this month at Resolution Local Art Gallery.

poetry festival illustration

Here is the illustration for the People's Poetry Festival article running in this month's issue of BeatRoute which came out last Wednesday. It didn't end up being printed in color unfortunately, not sure why. The sex column as well as the accompanying illustration has been pushed to next month as the August issue was particularly full, so keep your eyes open for that.

Your song of the day after the jump.

mural

Writers of the SCORM mural, acrylic, 2011

This past long weekend I clocked in a lot of time inside, staring at this wall. I was commissioned to create a mural for an IT room. I was really happy with the end result, and it felt good to be working at that large of scale again as it has been a little while. I think I may end up re-purposing the idea for a print.

SCORM is an acronym for Sharable Content Object Reference Model. I got a ton of creative control which was awesome, and everyone in the IT department seemed to love it, no word on HR's thoughts on the smoking gun yet.

Detailed pic below and of course your song of the day is "Riders of the Storm" after the jump.

twenty

The "Twenty" poster for Friday's show, they did a wicked job on it, which I can't take credit for unfortunately.

This Friday, August 5th, there will be a show being held at the Resolution Art Gallery in Kensington. The show's theme is about being in your 20s, and there will be at least 20 artists showing I believe. I have one painting being displayed, which I created for the show.

You can find more information at the Twenty Group Exhibition website here.

And see the facebook event page here.

Below is a piece of my preliminary drawing, come to the show to see the finished work!
